Welcome

JTEach year 300,000 babies born in the United States require some degree of neonatal intensive care.  In 1997 Tanya and Jon Hand established JT’S HAND-A Neonatal Fund in order to ease the financial and emotional burden that some families face during this crisis.  When families in the Indianapolis area need help, JT’S HAND is there.

Services provided by JT’S HAND during a child’s NICU stay are: utilities, basic phone service, breast pumps, groceries, lodging for out-of-town families, rent/mortgage payments, hospital transportation, funeral and burial expenses, cribs and other medically necessary baby equipment.

Who we’ve helped
Families in neonatal crisis experience extreme financial burdens.  Even basic necessities can become a hardship.
When Monica’s son Noah arrived 6 weeks early, she took unpaid extended leave from her job to be with him on his long road to recovery.
JT’S HAND paid Monica’s phone bill for three months, keeping the “lifeline” between hospital and home up and running.*

Families in neonatal crisis often travel great distances to ensure their child receives the best care possible.
For the first 2 months of their daughter’s life, Tom and Sheryl of Salem, Indiana made the 90 mile trip to Indianapolis several times each week while Samantha was in the NICU.  JT’S HAND helped with gas and hotel costs so Samantha’s parents could be by her bedside.*

*These stories are compilations of actual families served.
